Since its inception in 1947, Maxwell Adventist Academy has been the school for many students coming from numerous countries across the globe. As an international student, there are a few things that you need to be aware of especially in regard to the immigration requirements of Kenya. The Kenyan government requires that all international students get pupil passes during their entire period of study in Kenya. It is an offence for any international student to attend school without a pupil pass.

Maxwell applies for the pupil pass on behalf of our students and hence we require that you  send us the necessary documents prior to your arrival in Maxwell. Failure to do so may jeopardize your admission in the school. All visas and stamps for students who arrive in Kenya must be validated for three months. This provides us with sufficient time to process the pupil pass. Please remember to ask for three months when you arrive at the airport.

In some instances, the Kenyan immigration requires the students to get the visas before they arrive. Those can be applied for at evisa.go.ke. Please consult with the Kenyan embassy in your country of residence if you need a visa before arrival. Most countries are allowed to get a visa on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The documents that must be sent to the school for processing prior to your arrival are as follows:

  1. Clear, legible scanned copy of the student’s birth certificate in English
  2. Letter of Financial Support (See sample letter)
  3. Letter of Consent for Maxwell Adventist Academy to apply for the pupil pass (See sample letter) All letters must be addressed to the Director of Immigration Services Nairobi, Kenya (Please put any date in mid-August as the date for the letters.)
  4. Copy of parents’ passports. If only one parent writes the letters, a copy of his or her passport should be sufficient.
  5. Two recent passport photos.

Please refer to the downloads section on the home page of this website for sample letters.
