Dear Reader,

If you are looking for a school that is distinctly different, you have come to the right place.  Maxwell Adventist Academy exists to help students discover their God-given purpose.  We believe that putting God first in life is the door to true happiness and the key that opens the mind to learning.  In the words of Solomon, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10

As Seventh-day Adventist, we believe this fundamental truth, that the work of Education and Redemption are one and the same.  For this reason, the spiritual life of our school is the centerpiece of our program.  Daily worships, Friday Evening Vespers, Afterglow, Sabbath School, Church Service, and Sabbath afternoon activities are all part of our intentional effort to lead students ever closer to God.  In addition, all students take a Bible class each year as part of their academic program.

A strong spiritual emphasis is not exclusive of a strong academic program but rather enhances it.  Maxwell Adventist Academy offers a US college-preparatory curriculum.  We aim high and offer rigorous courses.  Students are expected to successfully complete all academic requirements before receiving our diploma.  We partner with several Universities in the United States which helps simplify the transition to studying there.

The environment of our Maxwell campus offers a refreshing change from the noise, congestion, and pollution of city life.  Our school is located on roughly 65 acres where nature has been preserved.  Acacia trees dot the landscape and Thomson’s Gazelles graze peacefully around us.  We believe nature is God’s second book.  I love this quote, “In itself the beauty of nature leads the soul away from sin and worldly attractions, and toward purity, peace, and God.” Christ’s Object Lessons 24.  We make a decided effort to increase our students’ contact with nature through hikes on the Ngong Hills, our annual camping trip, and our annual Mt. Kenya climb.

Our work is more than a job – it’s a mission given us by God.  Mrs. Dunder and I, together with the other teachers and staff, have dedicated ourselves to the work of leading each student to make a lifelong commitment to Christ and to develop their talents to be used in blessing others.

If you are looking for a school with this focus, I encourage you to apply.

Sincerely,

Roger Dunder
